Dr. John D. McClendon Jr. DVM, MBA

Dr. John D. McClendon, Jr. was born and raised in Baton Rouge, LA. As a child, John loved animals and saw himself working with them one day. He finished Riverwood High school in Atlanta, GA in 1988, and earned a B.S. in Public Administration from George Mason University. Afterwards, in 1996, he received a Master of Business Administration at Southern Methodist University. John pursued a career in the telecommunications industry for the next 8 years. After growing tired of the corporate rat race and upon discovering his true heart, he decided to follow his passion…working with animals. He returned home where he enrolled at LSU as a lowly undergraduate concentrating in pre-vet courses. After equipping himself with a more advanced knowledge of math and science, he enrolled at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2009. Hearing the call of home and family, John joined a Monroe veterinarian hospital before following his dreams to open his own clinic where he could focus on treating small animals and working with shelters and rescuing animals in need. He resides in Monroe with his 4 dogs Kya, Antlers, Jules, & Lil Mama & 1 cat, Priscenda.
